Planning Checklist

If you are going to get married you need a checklist so you don't forget those details. For those brides coming to the Canadian Rockies we have made a basic checklist of things you should consider doing.

Announce your engagement

Choose a wedding date

Decide on a hiring a professional wedding planner

Decide on type of wedding: location, formality,time of day, number of guests, etc

Determine budget and how expenses will be divided

Decide on a recordkeeping system for payments

Create guest lists and organize as follows:1) must invite, 2) should invite, 3) nice to invite

Decide on children being included among guests

Select and reserve a ceremony site

Select and reserve a marriage commissioner

Select and order your bridal gown

Determine color scheme of wedding theme

Decide if an engagement notice should be placed in local newspaper

Have a date book, and place all important events in this book

Obtain passport, visa(s), birth certificate, if needed for marriage license or honeymoon

Choose and book your photographer and videographer

Decide on who will be your maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, and ushers (approx one usher per 40 guests)
